More InformationTeneia's song was the ideal start to the creative session in my letterpress studio.
Some people walk into a room, and you immediately sense: There's energy here. Not intrusive. Not loud. But clear, warm, and full of presence.
And so it was when Teneia Sanders came to my letterpress studio as part of her demo tape session at LITTLE BIG BEAT Studios.
The American singer, songwriter, and tour partner of Nik West—the former bassist for Prince—brought not only talent and experience to the table, but above all an unwavering radiance. A zest for life that feels like a sunny day after a long rainy season. But what is behind it?
Teneia is an adventurer. An explorer. A spiritual artist. And above all: a woman with a clear mission.
«Every artist seeks the flow stage. It's the fun, it's the depth. I call it the Nirvana of artistry.»
– Teneia Sanders
Why does she describe herself as an “adventure seeker”? Because she is deeply curious. If you want to be a really good artist, she says, you have to open yourself up—grow inside, gain experience, learn.
Because when you grow, you shine brighter. And those who shine brighter are seen—by the next generation, by women searching for their path, by artists in need of inspiration. That is precisely what drives her.

More InformationFor Tape Face Poster #2, I had an in-depth conversation with Teneia, which led to the handwritten headline taken from her song: “In The Flow.”
Her father is a pastor. Her family: a circle of spiritual role models. No wonder that church was her first stage—and music was more than just sound from the very beginning: it was prayer, expression, connection. At the age of eight, she was already writing scripts for soap operas, inspired by the series her grandmother loved. Back then, she wanted to be on television, on stage—to prove that she could do it.
Today, it's no longer about proving herself.
A year before our session, she briefly considered giving up. But then there was that inner voice. “This is bigger than you.” It's not (just) about her. It's about the gift she has received. And about sharing that gift.
What helps her? The signs along the way. Those little moments when everything comes together. Synchronicity. When a performance changes everything and people connect with her in enthusiasm. When flow arises—that feeling of being on the right path.
That's precisely why we decided together that her Tape Face poster should say “in the flow.” Hand-printed with a hand-drawn woodcut and lead letters—like a visible reminder of this inner state. For that moment when everything falls into place. When music, people, and mission become one.
«Demo Tape Session #5: Wallrap Collective»
Live Session direct to Tape Master Copy
Teneia and her fabulous drummer David Collum II weren't just yet another musical highlight of this season with Ash Radford, IMP DA DIMP, Junipa Gold and Wallrap Collective – they were a reminder of what is possible when you embrace your destiny. When you listen, let go, trust.
That's exactly what strikes me about this format, because it's just like life design: it becomes truly creative only when we let go.
When we decide. Design. Discover.
The sessions connect everything I love — my work with people, my creative practice, and my role as Creative Director at LITTLE BIG BEAT STUDIOS.
Impressions from the demo tape session with Teneia Sanders and drummer David Collum II, October 9, 2025
The Demo Tape Sessions are not a talent contest in the usual sense.
They are stage, playing field, and springboard all at once. For artists who have the courage to show their most passionate side at crunch time — live, in front of an audience, and on tape.
Thank you, Teneia, for your energy and the fun we had together — and thank you to everyone who making this platform a reality:
To VP Bank AG, Sennheiser, RTM Industries, Little Big Beat LBB Association – and all the people who, like us, know that real flow kicks in when you let go.
