Tangente – Jazz is The Power of Now.
Since its foundation in 1979, jazz club «TangenteJazz» in Eschen, Principality of Liechtenstein, has shaped the jazz scene in Liechtenstein, Eastern Switzerland and Vorarlberg with great concerts by regional and international artists.
From January 2025, a new management team will therefore be established and Karl Gassner, co-founder and «face» of Tangente, will reduce his activities and hand them over.

Karl stopped by my letterpress studio, and while we were composing and printing a poster with Wynton Marsalis' quote «Jazz is the Power of Now» with old wood and lead type, I talked to him about the connection between our passion - jazz - and the connotation with old letterpress art, improvisation and the many experiences with his jazz club. We all know that the «now» is the only moment we can influence. So we talked about the present, but also about the past and the future of the club, as Karl wanted to retire after 45 successful years and leave his place to a younger successor.
