Sometimes that means letting go — of expectations, control, resistance. And sometimes, it quite literally means rolling a sentence through a press, with ink, pressure, and presence. This story with Shawn Jones does both — blending music, memory, and craft into something that quietly moves.
«Let it roll away… means you have to let go. Don’t expect anything — or you’ll only be disappointed. But if you truly let go, it comes back. Beautifully.»
— Shawn Jones
Exactly one year ago, something quietly powerful began to take shape — not as a project plan or a campaign brief, but as an open-ended conversation. One that started with music, drifted into life, and returned in the form of ink on paper.
This is the story of an A.i.R. Session — not just Artist in Residence, but in my world: Artist in Resonance.

For years, I had dreamed of inviting musicians into a deeper kind of pre-session experience. A space to tune in — not only to their instruments, but to themselves. A space that encourages exploration before execution, intention before performance.
When Shawn Jones agreed to be part of our first A.i.R. Session at LITTLE BIG BEAT STUDIOS. I knew this idea was about to take on real, tangible form.
What I didn’t know was just how deeply it would resonate.
Weeks before his concert, we started talking — and never really stopped. The conversation grew to nearly five hours when he finally arrived. And somewhere between stories about life, loss, growth, and gratitude, we stumbled upon a line from his track "Roll Away" :
«Let it roll away. The next thing you know, it’s all gonna roll your way.»
Not a strategy. Not a punchline.
Just a truth, floating in the room, waiting to be held.
The next day, I took Shawn to my letterpress-studio a space full of ink, weight, and wood. As we explored the room — shelves of wooden and lead type, stacks of beautiful tactile paper — something unexpected happened. Shawn paused. Took a breath. And with a quiet smile said:
«This is like déjà vu. My grandfather worked at a newspaper. I used to watch him work at the press when I was a kid. The smell, the paper, the calm… it all comes back now.»

That moment alone could have been the session.
But we went on — spending hours selecting fonts, debating compositions, arranging and rearranging the quote.
Should “ROLL” be loud? Should “your” be soft? Does “LET IT” work better in all caps or does it lose its tenderness?
We even had a lively discussion about paper — finally agreeing on two versions: a clean white edition, and a second batch printed on a warm cargo brown stock. Both earthy. Both present.
And then something truly generous happened: Shawn took the time to personally sign all 54 white copies and 24 brown ones, writing a handwritten dedication to me and one to LITTLE BIG BEAT STUDIOS. Small gestures, deep meaning.
Looking back, this whole process — from conversation to composition — clicked deeply with my Life Design heart .
I often tell the people I coach: Don’t over-script life. Let resonance lead. Start moving, and trust that the next step will appear.
This wasn’t a project to manage.
It was something we allowed to emerge.
We didn’t chase clarity — we let it roll in. Slowly, honestly.
